Senate Meeting Wednesday at 3pm
Attend the upcoming UO Senate meeting on Wednesday, 4/30 from 3pm-5pm via zoom (agenda and zoom). President Scholz is expected to share remarks during this meeting, and two resolutions will be considered for a vote:
- US24/25-20: Protecting Immigrant, International, and Noncitizen UO Community Members and,
- US24/25-21: Resolution to Establish a Mutual Defense Compact for the Universities of the Big Ten Academic Alliance in Defense of Academic Freedom, Institutional Integrity, and the Research Enterprise.
We encourage members to reach out to their constituency's senators and let them know your thoughts on these resolutions. You can find a list of senators here.
Supporting UOSW in the event of a strike
There are several things UA members can do to demonstrate support for UOSW. While we cannot strike in sympathy, wecan join them on the picket line during our breaks. Joining in the first days of a strike can be very useful to demonstrate support and boost morale.
Remember that, spending any money (as opposed to meal points) at campus dining locations would be crossing their picket line. Note that there are several non-UO dining locations in the EMU, as well as several nearby off-campus dining options. You can learn more about the status of UOSW bargaining here and also share this FAQ for Student Workers.
