Membership Meeting & Strike Authorization Vote
Your bargaining team continues to pursue every avenue possible to have productive conversations with the administration. While some of these conversations have happened confidentially, we feel it is important to give members as much of a window into the process as possible. We have heard clearly from our members that salary and professional development time are the most important elements of this contract and so we have closed out other economic items to focus on these issues.
Our current economic proposal includes 7.5% raise pools in each year (including across-the-board, internal and external equity, and merit raises), and substantial increases to the minimums. Our proposal also provides full-time Career instructional faculty the time they need for professional development.
At the same time the Scholz/Moffitt bargaining team was telling us that they could not afford to spend a single additional dollar on education, Scholz himself was meeting with the Board of Trustees to approve a $2 million annual raise for the head football coach along with double-digit percentage raises for other coaches.
The Strike Authorization Vote will go live at the Membership Meeting and stay open until Friday, March 14 at 4:59pm.
The Membership Meeting will be Tuesday, March 11 from 5-6:30pm in Willamette 100. Only members of United Academics may attend (children of members welcome).
